It’s funny how things seem to happen in sync. I have been discussing the soft skills gaps that companies are experiencing with several of our clients. Then, a day or two later, what should pop up in my inbox but a very interesting article in CIO Magazine about top skills needed for success in the digital era … listing the following as skills in big demand and lacking presently in many companies:

  1. Big Picture Perspective
  2. Client Empathy
  3. Consulting Capability
  4. Marketing and Promotion
  5. Presentation Skills
  6. Inquisitive Mind

While it is disconcerting to learn that, as cited in the article, 80% of employees lack the skills they need, I am proud that PM College has been ahead of the curve in addressing interpersonal and business skills for project managers.

What are your skills gaps? How can we help?
